We will have a pay loader, skid loader, and mini excavator down at the track this weekend. We plan to be there at 8 AM Saturday, and 9 AM Sunday. We need folks there to help with shovel work, clean the garbage up, take down the banners, help put away hoses and any other kind of "winterizing" that is needed before the snow flies.

Tour of Southern, MN

After dealing with the heat this weekend, our volunteers and riders don't need another hot day like this at the track. Helmets for next years parade

Hello. I'm working on a group buy for some helmets that can be used for parades and street riding. Helmets will be mandatory for riding in the parade next year since we want to send a positive and safe message to the general public that may not know what we are all about. The average retail is around $28 but we should be able to get a much better price with a group purchase.

Your child's race helmet will still be more than good for next year's parade but I know our Son wants his friends to be able to pick him out in the crowd. That's why I'm looking towards an open face skate/street style.

Please let me know by Wednesday if this is something you are interested in or if you have any suggestions. I want to gather some numbers so that a more concrete price can be established.

Stiles Camp Tomorrow

We still have lots of available space for the Stiles Clinic tomorrow and Tuesday. The clinic runs from 9-3 both days and lunch is provided both days.

The cost is $100 per rider for both days, or $60 per rider for one day.

The trainers are Brandon Brown, A Pro, and Elliot McGrath who just won both days in Rockford!

Race Canceled Tonight

The track is is unrideable shape from all the rain. The ground is also saturated from all the rain we have had the last several days. Therefore we will not be racing tonight. We will be working very hard over the next few weeks to get the track glued so we can prevent the washouts and ruts and have a better chance of preventing rain outs. Please stay tuned for updates on track work days.

We are having our stiles clinic on June 27th and June 28th. The cost is $60 for one day, and $100 for both days. The clinic is from 9-3 both days and lunch will be provided. If you are interested please let me know ASAP. The clinic was great last year with a lot of riders. Both my kids showed noticeable improvement after attending the clinic.

First Race Under our Belts

It is 11:00 and I am still grinning ear to ear. We had a great first race of the season. "Quadzilla" the first jump out of turn two, has opportunity for improvement. We will be working on that and will have it fixed before next Wednesday. I want to thank the following people, Willy, you rocked on the mic, Chad and Glenna, you are the best! Working on the track and helping on race night. Mike and Terry, registration went great and you put up with all my changes with class. Pedro and Nate for working on Quadzilla before the race. Victoria for running practice gates. Muellers for taking the BMX bull by the horns! Mindy and Beth serving the great chow. Concessions is a hard job! Brayden's dad ( I forget your name) for helping get the track race ready. Chris the Bobcat Master (and his wife for letting him out of the house with the new baby) Lynn for taking care of the grass and being our rental depot. Leif for putting up with me practically every single day for the last 3 weeks. Your always down there with a shovel anytime I ask. Steve the TO from New Ulm running gates. Rachel doing awards. All the kids GREAT attitude tonight I had a lot of fun. Anyone I missed I am sorry.

We may actually be able to race tomorrow.

Just a reminder that the track is ready and we will be racing unless the rain comes back.

We are going to keep all parking and smoking outside the fence.

The track points will be going strong again this year so every race is important for the season end awards. Please look me up if you are interested in how it works.

The registration process will be a little different this year. We will be using card scanners which will eliminate errors if your information is correct in the system. This means that you must have your membership cards to register! This new system has a receipt printer which will show you how much you paid and all of your membership information. Please review this when its handed to you. All errors will be on the receipt and immediate correct will prevent a repost. It's your responsibility to review and get the corrections made prior to registration closing.

Steve is heading up a project to build a new concessions and registration buildings. Marked it out tonight and would like input about its location both positive and negative. There will also be a donation jar in the concessions building to help fund the project.

Races Cancelled Again

With the rain we had over the weekend, we were not able to make any progress on the track from Friday through Sunday. Unfortunately we will not be able to race tomorrow. We will be down there tonight starting at 7 and anyone is welcome to do gates and ride the first two straights. We encourage anyone who is available to come down tonight and help get the track ready. Even with the rain in the forecast for the next week, we will be ready by next Wednesday. We will be running the season well into the fall this year so we will get in as many if not more races than last year.

We are unfortunately going to delay the start of our season even further. The weather is not cooperating with us at all. We are in the middle of making changes to the third straight, as well as making drainage updates. The new start date to the season is now going to be Wed May 25th. We will hold free gate practices on Tuesdays until then as long as the weather permits. If anyone wants to come down to the track and help work on the surface please do. If it is not raining or too wet to work on it, I will be there every week night from 6:30-dark. Saturdays from 8:00-3:00, and Sundays Noon-5.

Don't forget that New Ulm is having their state race weekend May 20-22. Fri night double point race for life, Saturday Earned Double, and Sunday State race.

Season has come to an end

We have unfortunately run into day light issues for Wednesday nights. This has caused us to cancel our last two races of the season. We will be concentrating on the fence, drainage and changing up the track this fall. We would like to thank everyone who raced and volunteered at Mankato Area BMX this season. We had a very successful season. You all made this a wonderful experience for me as a first year Track Operator. I am already super excited about next year. It is going to be BIG! We will hold Tuesday evening practices this fall until further notice.

The track got a little water last night, and more again tonight. It needs work to make it race ready. We are going to be out there working tomorrow morning starting at about 9:00 AM and working until about 2 or 3 PM. Hopefully it will not take that long. If need be, we will be working on it Sunday starting at about 12:30. Anyone interested in helping tomorrow please come. I will provide lunch and drinks for all volunteers. State race this weekend!

Come to the track Friday night for a special benefit "Race for Pedro" with registration 6-7 PM. Pedro is a local rider who suffered a heart attack this past may. He is without insurance and had to be air lifted. Pedro is a great volunteer in Mankato and we would like to help him and his family out. Awards will be certificates and all profits from registration and 50/50 will go to help offset bills.

State Championship race is Saturday with registration 11-1. This is our big race of the year and one you do not want to miss!

Good Afternoon,
The chance of rain looks to going away, although there is no guarantee We still plan to race tonight in spite of the heat. The heat index is supposed to drop to 90 degrees by 6PM and 84 by 8PM. If you plan to tough it out and race tonight, please do the following:

-Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water or sport drinks
-Limit practice laps
-Don't wear your helmet or other safety gear unless on the track.

If everyone follows these basic recommendations, we should have a fun but sticky evening!
If we get rained on more then the track can handle, we will cancel or postpone. We will cancel if there is lightening. I will try to keep you all updated if the weather changes

Parade was a success!

North Mankato Fun Days parade is Saturday July 10. We are number 13 in the lineup. Anyone interested in being in the parade must be to the west side of Lake Street between Lakeview and Webster Ave by 10:30AM. The parade starts at 11AM.

The Fundraiser at Pizza Ranch is July 12 from 5PM-8PM. We need 5-8 kids who want to clean tables and refill drink glasses. The track will receive all of the tips and 10% of the sales for those 3 hours.

Races Tonight 07/07

Races are still on for tonight! Good chance of rain, but predictive radar is showing it missing us. We have no issue racing in a light sprinkle. Lightening or heavier rain will cancel. If rain does come once registration is open, you will get either a race credit for a future race, or a refund if it is early enough. If it comes after the first gate drops, we will postpone the race and finish it at a later date. I like to be able to call it by 4:30 for people coming from out of town, but it will not work out that way tonight. If you are from out of town, come at your own risk. I really think we will be okay for racing tonight! Click on the link in upper right corner of the page to get the latest weather info. Thanks! -Justin

Races Tonight -Race for Life

We worked very hard on the track and it is looking great! Tonight is our Race for Life. Proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Minimum $10 donation for each rider. Therefore family discounts or free races for volunteers are not allowed. Awards will be certificates instead of trophies and stamps. Come race tonight for a worthy cause!

Track still needs work

After a hard days work at the track, we have the first straight, and about 1/2 of the second straight fixed. We still need to get the rhythm section fixed before Tuesday morning as it is needed for the Stiles clinic. The last straight should not be too bad. We had a very low turnout for help today. We would appreciate any help people can provide tomorrow during the day or in the evening.

Track Work Schedule

The track needs work. There are several wash outs on the hills, and the entire area from the second turn to the first jump on the third straight is completely washed away. Shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows are left out and available at the track. Anyone is welcome to stop out at any time and help fill in, pack down and fix up.
I plan to be there tonight starting at about 7:00 and working till sundown, and again later in the afternoon on Sunday. I will bring my 4 wheeler to pack the surface. I would appreciate any help people have to offer to get the track ready for next week.

Races Cancelled Tonight

We worked real hard at trying to get the track in shape last night. We got the first two straights looking good, and we were going to finish up third and fourth before the start tonight. The rain we got while we were asleep destroyed most of what we did and we wont be dry for enough hours to fix the track. Therefore races are cancelled for tonight. Thanks to all who worked hard last night! See you all next week.

The track took quite a beating last Thursday night with the storm that rolled through. With many of our regular track workers at Rockford last weekend, and Father's day on Sunday, we did not get a chance to work on it last weekend. Therefore, Tuesday's practice will be at no charge, and we will not be running the gate. Anyone riding the track will need to steer clear of where we are working. We welcome any help people can offer us to make the track race ready for Wednesday.

New Ulm canceled tonight. 50% chance of rain tomorrow. Will post if practice is cancelled. We will need lots of help fixing the track to make it race ready so show up early on Wednesday if you can help out.
